Requirements

1- Four (4) Passport-size Photographs

2- Two (2) Photocopies of the student’s birth certificate

3- Two (2) Photocopies of the student’s passport with valid UAE residence visa

4- Two (2) Photocopies of the report card

5- Two (2) Photocopies of the vaccination certificate

6- Two (2) Photocopies of the student’s Emirates ID/ Original Emirates Id for transferees from schools outside the UAE

7- Two (2) Photocopies of the guardian’s passport with valid UAE residence visa

8- Two (2) Photocopies of the parent’s Emirates ID

*Note: Must have passed the school entrance/assessment test.

  • In case the admission document requirements are not complete, parent(s) has to fill-up and sign the school Undertaking Form with the commitment date as to when to submit the lacking documents. Take note that students with incomplete documents are considered as temporarily enrolled.

Additional Requirements for Transferees

*Transferee coming from outside UAE: Transfer or Leaving Certificate & must be attested

*Transferee coming from school of the same curriculum:  Transfer Certificate

* Transferee coming from school of different curriculum: Leaving Certificate

Age

The federal government of the UAE, in collaboration with the educational authorities across the Emirates, has introduced a new admission policy for the children with the commitment to ensure the best education provision for all the students.

The Sharjah Educational Zone (SEZ) is keen to provide support and information to all schools in Sharjah.

Below is the list of the required age for each Class level.

KG 1 –   Must be 4 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

KG 2 –   Must be 5 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 1 –   Must be 6 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 2 –   Must be 7 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 3 –   Must be 8 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 4 –   Must be 9 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 5 –   Must be 10 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 6 –   Must be 11 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 7 –   Must be 12 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 8 –   Must be 13 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 9 –   Must be 14 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 10 –   Must be 15 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 11 –   Must be 16 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Grade 12 –   Must be 17 years old on or before August 31, from the same academic year.

Placement Test

Students are placed in their corresponding grade levels upon submission and evaluation of official transcripts along with their entrance examination results. The Modern American International School reserves the right to determine the method of placement.

  • The Exam is divided into two parts, English and Math.
  • Each exam is given 50 Minutes to complete.
  • English exam will need a PASSAGE for reading comprehensions. Grade 10, 11, and 12 will have an essay writing part which will constitute 40% of the marks.

Fees for extra-curricular activities like field trips, after-school activities and special classes are not included in the tuition fees as well.

Four (4) postdated cheques are required in order for the student to be considered as officially enrolled.

Book fees are not refundable.

The entrance exam fee is AED 250 and is non-refundable and not part of tuition fees.

Withdrawals

Terms of Withdrawals and Refunds

Student who decides to withdraw after attending the school term up to two weeks will be obliged to make a tuition Deposits and fees will not be refunded if the student opts not to take the reserved seat. However, the school may have the option to refund the deposited amount under special circumstances which include, but are not limited to; relocation to another Emirate or another country with legitimate evidence, or of any unforeseen circumstances. payment of one month (1 month fee is equivalent to 1/10th of the total amount of the annual tuition fees).

Student who decides to withdraw after attending the school term between two weeks up to one month will be required to make a tuition payment of two months (2 months fee is equivalent to 2/10th of the total amount of the annual tuition fees).  Student who leaves the school after attending the school term for more than a month will be required to make a tuition payment of three months (3 months fee is equivalent to 3/10th of the total amount of the annual tuition fees).

Student who leaves the school at the end of the first term will pay 60% of the total annual tuition fees.
