Accreditation

The Modern American International School is fully accredited by Cognia, a leading group committed to continuous improvements.

In order to earn Cognia accreditation, education providers must meet the accreditation performance standards, assurances, and policies, demonstrate quality assurance through internal and engagement reviews and engage in continuous improvement.

Based on a set of rigorous research-based standards and evidence-based criteria, the accreditation process examines the whole institution–its policies, programs, practices, learning conditions, and cultural context–to determine how well the parts work together to carry out the institution’s vision and meet the needs of every learner. Accreditation isn’t about passing a one-time inspection. Rather, accreditation recognizes education providers that demonstrate and sustain their commitments to continuous improvement and better learner outcomes.

The accreditation process is a vehicle that enables schools to improve student learning and school performance based on an analysis of those strengths and limitations. The American Common Core Standards have been adopted to ensure a rigorous curriculum is in place with an ongoing thorough assessment of students’ attainment and progress.

This is complemented by full provision for lessons in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies (for our Muslim students) and UAE Social Studies/Civics to meet the requirements of the UAE Ministry of Education.

Gaining accreditation demonstrates that MAIS has gone through a rigorous check by an external authority on education to make sure the school meets the standards and is qualified to teach students the US Curriculum programs we are offering.
